The purpose of a school is to guide its students towards success.
The Vatel group was founded by my parents, Jocelyne and Alain Sebban, in 1981, over 40 years ago.
And when they created Vatel, they had no other goal in mind. To achieve this, they envisioned a precise pedagogical approach and were determined to spread our education worldwide in service of the profession. This vision naturally drew partners to us.
We met men and women who shared our philosophy and were deeply committed to implementing it in their own countries. We are also fortunate to be surrounded by enthusiastic collaborators who embrace our values and principles and, in turn, pass them on.
By placing people at the center of our vision, we have given our school a big heart, a heart that beats in harmony with those who serve it. We all share the belief that "A child is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled." This is what guides us, what everyone feels within Vatel schools, and what earns us the trust of professionals in tourism and other industries. Today, I am deeply honored and enthusiastic to succeed my father as President of the Vatel Group. While our primary goal remains to support each student and pupil toward success and fulfillment, I am committed to ensuring that future generations thrive in an inspiring and healthy environment, one that aligns with our family values.

Opening of the first Vatel school in Paris, nearly 40 years ago
Establishment of Vatel Lyon, which becomes the Group's headquarters
Launch of Vatel Nîmes, the Group's flagship school
Opening of Vatel Bordeaux, the first franchised school
International Expansion
Starting in the 2000s, Vatel began replicating its model of French hospitality management schools internationally. Twenty years after the opening of the first Vatel school in Paris, all the factors for global expansion were in place: the educational concept, based on a structured and well-balanced combination of theory and practical professional experience, proved to be reliable, sustainable, and adaptable worldwide. Since then, numerous campuses have been established across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa.
A constantly evolving group
The creation of the Vatel Foundation, which aims to promote projects related to education, employment, as well as social and cultural initiatives.
The creation of Vatel Academy, which aims to train young people in the technical professions of the restaurant industry. The first school opens its doors in France at the beautiful Château de Lacroix-Laval near Lyon. The Vatel Group plans to open 20 schools in France based on this model, with expansions internationally.
